The Choir were delighted to sing with the Saltash Ladies Choir on 8 April. We had been invited to tea at 5.00pm so our coach set off from Sidmouth at 2.30 picking up members and their wives/partners along the way, finally leaving Exmouth at about half past three. Unfortunately, being a holiday weekend, Exeter Chiefs Rugby match, Exeter City Football and an accident on the M5, traffic in Exeter was at a standstill and we did not get to Sandy Gate roundabout until 5.00. We finally made it to Saltash at 6.00. However it was all worthwhile! The tea laid on for us was a lavish feast of savoury and sweet goodies, and the concert was a great success. in the presence of the lady mayor of Saltash, who joined the joint choirs at the end for the rousing finale of Morte Criste. After the singing there was plenty of tea left over to fortify us for the journey home. We look forward to singing with ladies on our home patch in September.
