Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir

Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir (BSMVC) is looking to appoint a new Musical Director (male or female) to take over from the current MD who retires at the end of December 2011 after more than 15 years service.

BSMVC has been established for almost 40 years and has gained a good reputation for the quality of its singing.  Currently some 10–15 concerts are held each year and practices are held every Tuesday between 7.30 and 9.30pm in the Peter Hall, Budleigh Salterton.  The choir has a wide and varied library exceeding 100 items of primarily a mixture of male voice music.  Membership is approximately 70.

The Musical Director is an essential and integral contributor to the choir, working with the Committee and Accompanist and will be expected to identify with the choirs fundamental objective, which is to enjoy making music and raising money for other charities and worthwhile organisations.

It is essential to have experience in conducting choral music and desirable to have appropriate qualifications. Also a proven track record of leading choirs but above all the ability to inspire the choir to achieve its full potential.
